Okay, so I found a save file on gamefaqs for Persona 4 that's in the exact place I was when my save accidentally got overwritten. Only problem is that the save is in.cbs format, for the codebreaker save. But I think I need it to be in.psv format to work with the PS3's virtual memory card. I tried emulating the game, and it works, but my computer is only a 2.2 Ghz dual core, and it doesn't run at an ideal speed. So if I could play my physical copy of the game on my PS3 that would be ideal.
So I guess my question is if someone knows how to convert a.cbs PS2 save file to a.psv virtual memory card file that's be great, or if someone has a save at the spot I need it to me in.psv format that would also work. I was at the part where you end up choosing which ending you're going to get, I made a mistake in the dialog choices and ended up getting a bad end, I then overwrote my save with the new game+ on accident. Any help would be appreciated very very much!
Save File Basics. A memory card is required to save a game. Official Sony memory cards are recommended for reliability. Katana memory cards are 'Second Party', using Sony memory in Katana cases.
These are considered acceptable. Slim PS2s and some later games will not recognize 3rd party memory cards. In some cases they won't recognize Sony cards either. Large 3rd party memory cards can be useful, if your console and games will recognize it. It is highly recommended that critical saves be backed up to a Sony memory card.
It's highly recommended that critical saves be backed up to a different card in any case. PS1 saves can be copied to/from PS2 cards. While PS1 games will not save/load with a PS2 card, this can be useful for backing up PS1 saves. With a 3rd party memory card, be prepared for it to fail a.
Eject and remove any disc before you turn on the console. Push the blue triangle with a single line beneath it. The door of the disc holder will now be open. The screen will freeze momentarily, which is fine. Take the disc out gently. You may hear a click, which is normal.
File Save Game Ps2
Close the door to the disc holder by hand. Plug your controller in to Slot 1/A, and ensure the memory card is properly inserted into the console.
The port is located on the left side of the console, just on top of the controller port. Find the data of the game you want to delete then push the 'X' button. See all 201 rows on serialnumber.in. Using the arrows on the left side of your controller, select data that you want to delete. Use the logo, theme, and name of the game to identify the data you want to remove. Each piece of data is a picture that corresponds with the said game, or configuration data. (For Example, Final Fantasy would have a Chocobo, or Soul Calibur would have the logo and so on).
You will slowly see 3D renderings of games that have saved data on the memory card. When there is a white light on a rendering, it means it is selected.
Note that if you see the name of the game but the data icon is a blue cube, then the data is corrupted and therefore cannot be deleted or removed.
